Information

Our 2009 Central Coast Pinot Noir is the first release under the Siren label. And if you wanted us to get all serious about it, we'd probably say things like this:

Deep garnet in color, the wine smells of ripe raspberries, with notes of smoke, fresh cut pine, and orange peel. In the mouth, dried red cherries dominate the palate. It's light and elegant with subtle, fine-grain tannins and persistent acidity. The 2009 is drinking beautifully right now and is best consumed in the next 1-3 years. It's perfect for lighter fare (pan-seared pork loin anyone?), but with moderate alcohol and bright acidity, it's no stranger to spice (insert shaking beef here).

Hand-crafted, small lot wine. Made with love in Alameda, CA.

About Siren Wine Co.

At Siren, all we do is Pinot Noir.

And we like a certain kind of Pinot. One that's relatively uncomplicated by oak and alcohol and that offers a simple and elegant interpretation of a very special grape. We're smitten with cool-climate viticulture and wines with character. These are food-friendly Pinots that are intended to be shared at a table with friends.

But more than anything, we believe that wine (and the folks who stand behind it) should be passionate about what they do. Making this wine gets us out of bed in the morning. And while we got started in this business to make a whole bunch of other fancy wines under the Joseph Gary Cellars label, Pinot Noir will always be OUR Siren...

If you'd like to come visit us, we make all our wines at a collective of artisan wineries located at Rock Wall Wine Co. in Alameda, CA. The tasting room is open Wednesday to Sunday from noon to 6 PM and has a dynamite view of SF (if we do say so ourselves).

Come on out and taste some wine and then skip over to St. George Spirits in the hanger next door.
